Churchill’s A History of the English-Speaking Peoples is often cited as the source of this quotation. However, despite a thorough review of all four volumes, we have been unable to locate it in that series or in any of Churchill’s other writings.
This quote is commonly attributed to Winston Churchill, but I have not been able to locate a primary source. Use with caution in academic or professional contexts.
